Led by Mian Shafqat Ali, a 12-member delegation of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Monday left here for a 10-day visit to Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
Majority of the members of this delegation, are associated with construction industry, said LCCI chief Mian Anjum Nisar, while giving details about the delegation.
He said this was the third delegation going abroad under present LCCI leadership. Prior to this, LCCI delegations had also visited India, China and Hong Kong.
The LCCI chief said Afghanistan was passing through reconstruction process and objective of the delegation is to pin point trade and business opportunities exist in that country.
He said vast opportunities exist for Pakistan in the construction industry in Afghanistan, hence Pak businessmen should exploit them, adding after US, Afghanistan is the biggest trading partner of Pakistan and there is room to further increase the bilateral trade.
He averred that Pakistani embassies in Afghanistan and Tajikistan are also extending full support, and they have arranged LCCI delegation meetings with known trade representatives of both countries.
