Central leader of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Muhammad Pervaiz Malik MNA has said that the changes in syllabus to underplay the Muslims, Pakistan's ideology and fundamentals of Islamic values on the recommendations of an unscrupulous foreign aided NGO was a serious matter and government should not only remove the persons responsible for the offence but proceed against them under the law.
While addressing the PML-N workers of his constituency here on Monday, Malik mentioned that the matter was so serious that even General Musharraf and other senior government functionaries had also shown their concern.
The matter should not be kept in secret but brought to a logical end so that such incidents could not be repeated in future, he asserted and added that an attempt to lower the impact of Islamic values, two-nation theory and Islamic fundamentals like 'jehad' (crusade) and sanctity of holy personalities was an unpardonable offence.
Now when the new academic session for the year 2004 has started, the government is yet to decide either books to be re-written or reprinted. Delay would result in the wastage of a precious year of the students.
