NWFP police chief Muhammad Raffat Pasha has directed the Bannu police high ups to select sites for establishment of the police public school and police hospital in Bannu, and send a detailed report for approval to the Chief Minister.
These directives were issued by him during his visit to the district Bannu, where he had gone to inspect different sites for the two proposed projects.
The Inspector General of NWFP Police directed the police high ups to keep in mind the future requirements, public facilities and administrative affairs of the projects, while drafting the report.
They were further directed to submit a comprehensive report within eight weeks so that it could be approved by the Chief Minister for early start of work on these projects at the earliest.
Bannu police high ups were also directed to initiate work on two model police stations in Bannu as per decision of the provincial government, and complete it within six months by submitting him a detailed report.
It may be recalled that the government had decided to give status of model police station to 18 police stations of the province under which two police stations, one each at urban and rural area, would be made model police station at sub- divisional headquarter level. The provincial government has allocated Rs 700,000 for each police station.
As per this decision of the government, it has been decided that Cantt and Domail police stations would be made model police stations in Bannu.
The provincial police chief, during his visit, inspected both the police stations, and directed the Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) and Superintendent of Bannu Police to start work on these police stations.
They, with the help of maps, briefed the IGP about the proposed plan of the model police stations.
The IGP directed them to make necessary changes and construct a separate reporting centre in these police stations.
