Facebook and Twitter, the so-called social media platforms bowed down to the pressures of Israel, as it deletes thousands of pages, posts and accounts promoting Pro-Palestine content.
According to media reports, Israeli Minister of Justice Ayelet Shaked while speaking to Yedioth Ahronoth, newspaper said, “We succeeded to achieve our goals as around 70 percent of our demands (to delete Facebook and Twitter content) were fulfilled.”
Now, as per Israel Justice Minister the type of content that was requested to be removed, was “incitement” related. “We succeeded to delete incitement contents calling for death and violence across the internet,” she added.
As expected, the Palestine cause supporters showed there resentment towards Israel latest move, as the Palestine Chronicle wrote “It is not uncommon for Israel to use social media and freedom of expression as a means of controlling viewpoints from being expressed globally.”
According to Business-Standard, internet’s largest social media platform Facebook and the micro-blogging Twitter have already setup a number of measures in order to report offensive content on the websites.
