A court in Morocco's capital Rabat has jailed 10 people for eight years on conviction of belonging to a banned fundamentalist movement and terrorist offences, a legal source said Saturday.
Those sentenced by the court on Friday evening were suspected members of Salafia Jihadia, accused of involvement of terrorist attacks in the northern port city of Casablanca on May 16 last year.
All had pleaded not guilty to charges including "activities in a non-recognised organisation, criminal association with the aim of carrying out terrorist actions and statements in favour of terrorist actions", the source said.
