Egas Mussanhane, Chairman of Mozambique Federation of Chambers of Commerce, on Saturday invited the Pakistani investors to avail the opportunities to set up industrial, business and banking ventures in his country.
"Though our country has an established financial and banking system but Pakistani entrepreneurs can establish banks to benefit their intended businesses in Mozambique and the exports," he remarked.
He was talking to President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Siraj Kassam Teli, when he called on him at his KCCI office here.
He said that Pakistani entrepreneurs could make investment in all sectors of the industry and trade.
Mozambique needs Pakistani entrepreneurs for its development and improvement of economy, Egas Mussanhane said.
He maintained that Mozambique was an important country by nature. "We import each and every commodity and so there was a lot of potential for exports from Pakistan," he remarked.
He said that his Federation is keen to maintain liaison with the Pakistani entrepreneurs through KCCI and FPCCI after which he would bring some officials and the entrepreneurs from Mozambique to step forward for enhancement of trade between the two countries and particularly to enhance exports from Pakistan.
Siraj Kassam Teli stressed the need for improvement of trade relations between Pakistan and Mozambique and suggested that joint "Ministerial Council" of the two countries be established as early as possible.
He pointed out that presently the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries was very negligible. He suggested that positive interaction and interrelations between the business leaders of the two countries could make the things better.
Direct relations between the entrepreneurs of the two countries would help improve the trade relations between Pakistan and Mozambique.
The KCCI chief added that it was a high time for Pakistani entrepreneurs to exploit business potential in Mozambique.
Former President of FPCCI S M Munir and a former Vice President of KCCI S Khalid Tawab said that the law and order situation in Mozambique were good. They said that during their visits to Mozambique, they did not see any police even outside the office of high government officials and functionaries and not a single guard with arms was found anywhere in Mozambique.
