Argentine wheat sales rise

Argentine sales of 2003/04 wheat totalled 3.08 million tonnes by January 23, up from 3.06 million tonnes a week before, the agriculture department said on Monday.
By the same date last year, wheat sales totalled 3.145 million tonnes.
The agriculture department reported wheat sales last week of 50,000 tonnes to Brazil - the largest market for Argentine wheat. But the government also cut its figure for export commitments to unspecified destinations by 30,000 tonnes.
