Federal Defence Minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal said on Sunday that Pakistan was very watchful and careful about its defence.
"Although there is improvement in ties with India, there will be no change in the defence policy of the country," he said, while talking to newsmen at the 22nd anniversary of Shaheen Airport Services (SAPS).
He said Pakistan could review its defence requirements and strategy while keeping in view any reciprocal measures if initiated by India.
He criticised the Indian move of fencing the border along the Line of Control (LoC).
Rao said that both the countries were so far making good progress in civil aviation sector and referred to the recent resumption of flights.
About the domestic political situation, he said, the PPP-Patriots were strengthening their position in the national and provincial assemblies.
He said that they have support of seven MPAs in the Sindh Assembly, significant support would be gained with the blessings of Sherpao Group in the NWFP and similar progress would be made in Punjab.
He said that had PPPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto faced the courts, the situation would have been different today.
