The city police has not made any breakthrough or found any clue to Thursday's bomb blast in Saddar, police sources said on Friday.
At least 14 people were injured, two seriously, and more than 15 vehicles damaged when a locally made high intensity time device fitted in a stolen Suzuki High-Roof went of at about 3:15 pm at the gates of Holy Trinity Church on Fatima Jinnah Road on Thursday.
IGP Syed Kamal Shah held a meeting of the police high-ups and all the officers involved in the investigation of the bomb blast at his office and reviewed the position as it stood after 24 hours.
The meeting expressed its inability to make any headway and decided to strengthen its investigation teams at different levels.
The investigation department and the CID which were represented by their heads presented their initial findings which led to no conclusion.
The police are even unable to connect the crime or attribute the crime to any organisation. The general feeling among the police officers is that it was an act of terror.
Asad Ashraf Malik who is heading the investigating team came up with no findings except a report of steps that had been taken to be adopted during investigation.
However, IGP Syed Kamal Shah has expressed his satisfaction over the 'progress' of the investigation team and has asked the police to arrest the culprits soon.
The IGP said that there was need to further strengthen investigation system on modern lines.
He has instructed all the police stations and field officers to streamline their working and check crime in their respective jurisdictions.
The meeting took notice of increase in car snatching incidents and decided to draw a plan that provided speed to the entire system of chasing criminals.
