Kashmiris leaders led by Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry walked to the Indian High Commission to register their protest.
According to the memorandum, they demanded release of all the detainees from jails, torture cells, interrogation centers, restoration of all fundamental freedoms including right to life and travel, immediate stop to genocide, state terrorism and human right violations, creating conditions for an intra dialogue between Kashmiri leaders from both sides of Cease Fire Line and withdrawal of troops from occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
"We want to make it known on this day that neither brute force nor political fraud can deter the people of Jammu and Kashmir from their resistance against Indian occupation," the memorandum added.
The memorandum said that UN along with other member states associated with this august body should help the people of Jammu and Kashmir to redeem their right to self-determination as envisaged in UN resolutions.
Addressing the protest rally Sultan said, "Kashmir is not a territorial dispute but an issue of the future of Kashmiris."
