Accountant General, Punjab, Wazir Ahmad Qureshi, has directed all the authorised Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to furnish lists of all the employees of the provincial and district governments which will retire during the next five years so that deficiencies in their service record could be made up.
While presiding over a meeting here on Monday, he also directed the DDOs to certify the services of the employees, which have passed 10 to 15 in service so that they may not face any difficulty at the time of their retirement. He also expressed his dissatisfaction over the performance of DDOs.
The District Accounts Officer (DAO) apprised the AG Punjab that authorised DDOs of the provincial and district governments are not extending their due co-operation in providing necessary information about retiring employees.
While taking serious note to the situation, the AG said that president of Pakistan and Chief Secretary Punjab had announced revolutionary steps to facilitate the retiring employees.
