ISLAMABAD: Patron Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders, Shahid Rasheed Butt has expressed confidence over growth and sustainability of economy due to interest of the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and his team.
"The economic managers are burning midnight oil to make a pro-growth budget as we had enough of austerity measures which has subdued growth", he said in a statement issued here.
Talking to a group of journalists led by President PFUJ Afzal Butt and Shakeel Anjum President National Press Club, he said that the authorities should focus on improvement of infrastructure and policy implementation to trigger economic growth and job creation.
Shahid Rasheed Butt said that business community across the country was satisfied due to improved law and order situation across the country.
"Low cost of petroleum products, single digit inflation, reduced mark-up rates, ongoing energy projects and China Pakistan Economic Corridor has boosted confidence of the business community", he said.
"There are some rules and regulations which need adjustment in the forthcoming budget to further boost confidence of the business community", he remarked.
The veteran business leader said that issue of export refunds should be given preference by the authorities which he claimed was hitting external sector.
"Improved exports and creation of jobs are linked to the payment of refunds", he added.
He demanded that policies should be predictable and consistent to improve the business environment as the real estate and financial services sectors continue to flourish.
At the occasion, Shahid Rashid Butt who is also honorary Consul General of Ghana was given honorary life membership of the National Press Club, the statement said.
