ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Italy Stefano Pontecorvo along with Chairman of the Italian Industries Federation for Airspace Crosetto called on Federal Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi here Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said Pakistan was looking for strengthening of relations with Italy.
He said the economy of Pakistan was progressing and initiatives taken by the present democratic government had created investment-friendly environment in the country for the international community.
"Industrial corporation, mutual trade and people-to-people contacts may be increased for strengthening of bilateral relations," he added.
The automobile industry was also discussed in the meeting and the ambassador shared with the minister the promotion of Italian auto companies in Pakistan.
Industrial parks were also discussed as the minister explained how they are necessary to give companies incentives and tax relaxation for foreign companies who want to set up industries in Pakistan.
The minister said that industries for new technology could be set up anywhere in Pakistan and were not bound to industrial parks.
The ambassador apprised about the friendly relations Pakistan and Italy enjoying at various levels.
