imageKARACHI: A leading businessman and former president Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Iftikhar Ahmed Vohra has advised Pakistani business community to move forward and increase interaction with their Chinese counterparts for truly benefiting from huge prospects of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

" We, business community would have to step forward to reap fruits of CPEC, " he remarked while talking to APP here on the eve of 65th anniversary of Pak-China relationship.

He said Chinese companies were giving priority to Pakistani companies as their partners. The partnership between the two private sectors at Gwadar and other CPEC related projects had proved very successful.

He said China was Pakistan's trading partner. Both the countries could promote their bilateral trade and investment manifold through diversification.

Vohra, who is plastic goods manufacturer and exporter, Pakistani businessmen especially the exporters should enhance the frequency of their visits to China to study the vast market of China having the population of 1.200 billion. It had successfully brought a big revolution within short span of three or four decades.

He said China was one of the largest economies of the world and Pakistan should increase its involvement with it. China had more than 3000 dollars foreign exchanges reserves. Most of these funds were being spent on developing infrastructure mainly roads and railways.

The senior businessman said China was Pakistan's trusted friend over last more than six decades. Whereas, it was Pakistan who recognised China as a sovereign country on getting independence.
