KARACHI: Two ships C.V X-Press Kailsah and M.I Sovereign carrying containers and diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Sunday.
Meanwhile five more ships C.V AL-Kharj, M.T Topoz-I, M.T ECF Nur- K, M.T CSW Fighter and M.V Pabal with Containers, Palm oil canola seeds and chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was maintained at the port at 53% on Sunday where a total of eight ships namely, C.V X-Press Kailsah, C.V Nicoline Maersk, C.V MSC Athens, M.V Star Delta, M.V Tomini Harmony, M.T Bunga Azalea, M.T Sovereign and M.T Atlantic Glory were occupied PQA berths to load/offload containers, coal, soya bean seeds, palm oil diesel oil and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling registered an upward trend during last 24 hours where a cargo volume of 160,429 tonnes, comprising 113,898 tonnes and 46,531 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,829 containers (TEUs) (1,934 TEUs imports & 2,033 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.
Three ships M.V Slar Delta, C.V Nicoline Maersk and M.T Atlantic Glory sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships C.v MSC Athens and C.V X-Press Kailsah are expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Two ships C.V AL-Kharj and M.T GSW Fighter carrying containers and chemicals are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Monday. While another ship M.T Brizo is due to arrive of Port Qasim on same day and oil tanker 'Karachi' and Container Vessel "Maersk Kingston' are due to arrive on Tuesday.
