imageISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), Tariq Fazal Chaudhary has said the government has shown sincerity to probe into Panama Papers' leaks through a Judicial Commission.

The practice of hurling accusations by the opposition on media against his party's leadership should be stopped, he said.

Participating in a PTV talkshow, the minister said the government wanted to develop consensus on terms of references (ToRs) of judicial commission but the opposition parties were just out to target the Prime Minister and his family.

Pakistan was the only country in the world where a high level judicial commission was being constituted to investigate the allegations, he added.

Tariq Fazal said the sit-in and protests would create instability in the country that could halt the economic development and impact in flow of the foreign investment.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), he said, wanted to come clean out of Panama allegations before the general elections due in 2018.

He said the opposition parties should record evidence with the judicial commission if they have any against the PML-N leadership and stop baseless propaganda through media.

To a question, he criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s leaders for using derogatory remarks against PML-N leadership.

He said the government was showing tolerance and bearing criticism of opposition with open heart. The government wanted to fulfil all requirements for free and transparent investigation but the political rivals wanted only accountability of PML-N leadership.

To another query, he said the allegation of rigging against his party was also proved false after an inquiry by the judicial commission and the opposition remained unable to submit any proof in support of their accusations.
