KARACHI: A leading telecom company has evinced interest in picking the boys of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology to meet its future expansion plans.
"The boys of this university are more technologically sound", observed members from Huawei Technologies who visited SSUET and held meetings with its Chancellor, Jawaid Anwar, Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Jawaid H. Rizvi and Registrar, Syed Sarfraz Ali and briefed them about their plans as part of their recruitment drive.
The six-member team having three Chinese with local representatives, Technical persons and those from Human Resource department spent a whole day with SSUET officials, faculty members and students.
Almost 100 students from various departments appeared in the aptitude test and 35 students were short listed for interview.
The Huawei team came here with the positive intention and they provided an opportunity to the young engineers of SSUET to enlighten their careers.
In their meeting, Chancellor, SSUET, Javaid Anwer highly appreciated the team efforts and observed that their recruitment drive will open up bright opportunities for students of this varsity.
He also appreciated the performance of Telecom Engineering Department and said its students will prove to be an asset for the company.
The team members pointed out that they would pick up talented boys from Telecom, Electronics and Computer Engineering disciplines for internship leading to jobs in the company.
The Registrar Syed Sarfraz Ali too welcomed the team members and assured them of meeting the company's requirements with the provision of best talented students for internship leading to jobs for them.
On the occasion he presented souvenirs to the team members.
