imageMark Zuckerberg, was extremely disappointed over the comments made by Marc Andreessen, Facebook influential board member, which appeared to support the colonization of India.

"I found the comments deeply upsetting, and they do not represent the way Facebook or I think at all," wrote Zuckerberg in a Facebook post on Twitter.

The comments by Andreessen came after India rejected Facebook, Free Basics program, which offered free access to a limited set of Internet sites.

Andreeessen, however, later apologized for his remarks terming them as “ill advised” and “ill Informed”

According to Wall Street Journal, the company said “We strongly reject the sentiments expressed by Marc Andreessen last night regarding India.”

Zuckerberg also said that an early trip to India helped solidify his vision for Facebook and he was inspired by the country’s progress.
