FaceBook’s very own Mark Zuckerberg has now become the fourth richest person in the world.
Zuckerberg climbed two steps from 6th to 4th in a matter of weeks shoving aside the Mexican telecom giant Carlos Slim and online retail king Jeff Bezos. He currently sits comfortably with a net worth of $50 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
His personal wealth has been riding high ever since January 28, when Facebook reported sales and profits that surprised analysts and beat expectations.
It was just last week, when the boost in Facebook's stock price that steered the 31-years old Harvard dropout, past each of the Koch brothers, the political kingmakers.
According to Bloomberg, Zuckerberg remains the only billionaire among the world’s five-richest people on the planet, which have witnessed an increase in fortune this year. Half of the 10 wealthiest billionaires on Earth have made their fortunes in technology.
Bill Gates, Microsoft founder and philanthropist still rules the rooster as the world's richest person, with a net worth of $78.7 billion. Zara fashionista Amancio Ortega of Spain is number two, with $69.3 billion, while the wizard of Wall Street wizard Warren Buffett stands third, with $59.6 billion net worth.
