ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan Thursday said the government was committed to protecting rights of minorities as they were playing a vital role in development and prosperity of the country.
He said this while addressing a ceremony held here to distribute cheques amongst Chaklala Church burning victims of 2014.
The Minister said, being a democratic society it was collective responsibility to make efforts for promoting tolerance, sectarian harmony and upholding great national values.
On the occasion, he also distributed cheques worth Rs 1.2 million amongst the affected persons.
