Fast-rising spinning all-rounder Imad Wasim has been ruled out of the squad for the three T20Is against England after not recovering sufficiently from his fracture injury.
According to local media report, the PCB said Wasim will need more time and will be replaced by another spinning all-rounder, Bilal Asif, who is already with the team in the United Arab Emirates for the ongoing one-day series.
“After inspection he was initially advised complete rest for three weeks and another inspection revealed he needs a further week’s rest,” said a PCB statement.
However, Wasim was injured in a domestic cricket match last month, and needed another two weeks to recover, PCB Doctor Sohail Saleem said. Recently, The PCB said on Friday that Akmal was cleared by its security and vigilance department after he was served a show cause notice for bringing cricket into disrepute.
Pakistan will play against England in a three-match T20 series starting November 26 in the UAE.
