imageLAHORE: The Lahore High Court was assured on Tuesday that quorum of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) would be completed within a month.

The assurance was given by Deputy Secretary Cabinet Division Muhammad Ishfaq who appeared before Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah in a civil miscellaneous application filed by the OGRA.

The secretary apprised the court that appointments of OGRA members were being made and the authority's quorum would soon be completed. He pleaded the court to grant one-month time for the purpose.

At this, the court asked secretary to submit a report after completing the process while adjourning the matter till June, 30.

The court had summoned the secretary cabinet division after it was informed that the quorum of authority was incomplete for many months, during hearing of an application filed by the OGRA.

The OGRA through his application submitted that the court had ordered the authority to decide representation of Al-Rehman CNG in 15 days after hearing their stance while disposing of a petition for the purpose in 2014.

The OGRA submitted that the quorum of the authority was not completed and it could decide the representation.

It requested the court to allow time for deciding representation till all members were appointed.
