The video ‘My Choice’ by Vogue Empower featuring Deepika Padukone showed the feminism and women empowerment, created a lot of buzz on social media. In response to the video, Ankur Poddar from Brat House Films has come up with a male version of ‘My Choice’.
In the video starring actress Deepika Padukone, hard-hitting lines like “It is my choice to live life the way I want, to wear clothes I like, to decide how I want my body to be, when I want to get married or if I ever want to walk down the aisle, to decide if I want to be straight or a lesbian or if I want to have sex before marriage or outside marriage”. However, the new video appropriately shows how it becomes complicated when a man wants the same things for himself.
Deepika’s representation of Women Empowerment has been loved by many while some think otherwise. A male version of the video shows different men speak about the choices men have to make. The video has similar appeal, the narrative too is the same at some points and altered as per men's point of view in a few places. The video ends on a message that says, ‘Respect Women & Men. We don't support adultery’.
The ‘Vogue Empower’ video has been directed by Homi Adajania of ‘Cocktail’ fame and features prominent faces like Deepika Padukone, Zoya Akhtar, Anupama Chopra, Nimrat Kaur and Adhuna Akhtar among others.
‘Respect Women and Men equally’ is the motto of newly uploaded video, which features some not-so-known faces but gives a strong message to all.
