ISLAMABAD: The Special Court constituted to try former President Gen. (retd) Pervez Musharraf under Article 6 of the Constitution for breaching and abrogating constitution by proclamation of emergency in the country on November 3, in 2007, Wednesday adjourned hearing of the case without any proceedings till April 24.
Special Court Registrar Abdul Ghani Soomro adjourned hearing of the case in absence of three-member bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab comprising Justice Tahira Safdar and Justice Yawar Ali.
The proceedings of the case could not take place due to hearing of a petition filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the Special court order to include the names of Former Prime Minister Shoukat Aziz, Former Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and Former Law Minister Zahid Hamid in the treason case as aiders and abettors.
Shoukat Aziz, Abdul Hameed Dogar and Zahid Hamid had filed a petition in the IHC, seeking Special Court verdict null and void.
