Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has been approached to play a key role in Bollywood movie ‘Baby’ starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role, but he turned down the offer due to anti-Pakistan element in it.
Pakistani film star Hamza Ali Abbasi said on Monday that he would not accept any offer from Bollywood if there is slight anti-Pakistani element in the story line.
He took to his official Facebook page to share his opinion about the Bollywood movie ‘Baby’ which also stars few Pakistani actors in it. He said, “I was offered this Indian film ‘Baby’ last year and I immediately said no to it seeing a slight anti-Pakistan element in its storyline. I am in favour of our artists working in Indian films, but if any film has a slight anti Pakistan theme, please think like a Pakistani first and then an artist”.
The Pakistan Film Censor Board has banned the exhibition of ‘Baby’ in Pakistan due to the same issue.
However, the team of the movie ‘Baby’ was in a state of shock over the ban in Pakistan. Producer Bhushan Kumar said “If you watch the film, you will know we are not talking about a country, we are only talking about terrorism,” media reported.
Along with Bollywood action star Akshay Kumar, the movie also stars Pakistani actors Mikaal Zulfiqar and Rasheed Naz in the prominent roles.
