BATA: Tunisia coach Georges Leekens celebrated his side's qualification for the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations on Monday after their 1-1 draw with DR Congo in Bata.
"We know we are not the best or the most beautiful but we have qualified and I am very happy," said Leekens after the game.
The result, combined with a 0-0 draw in the day's other game between Cape Verde and Zambia, allowed Tunisia to progress as Group B winners.
"We were fantastic in the first half. We wanted to score the second goal and we had three, four or five chances to do so.
"In the second half the spaces opened up because the Congolese were taking risks and fatigue was setting in," Leekens added.
"Tunisia are happy, Congo are happy, Equatorial Guinea are happy, everyone is happy! Life is great!"
Tunisia can now look forward to a quarter-final against the host nation this weekend, with the match scheduled to be played in Ebebiyin.
Of the Nzalang Nacional and their 2-0 win against Gabon on Sunday, Leekens said: "We saw their match yesterday, the joy, we heard the car horns last night.
"They have a balanced team with a lot of pace up front. It won't be easy because they were fantastic yesterday. I am happy for the country but now we want to qualify.
"It will be difficult because they will have the fans behind them but I am quite confident. I try to be positive in any circumstance."
