ISLAMABAD: The power transmission lines of 500 KV and 220 KV tripped at Guddu-Dadu in wee hour of Thursday due to heavy fog and extreme weather condition resulting electricity suspension to various areas of the country including twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The spokesman of National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) told APP that power supply to all major cities including Karachi, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Peshawar and Balochistan have been restored.
He said that power supply to all big cities have restored. "80 per cent electricity to Lahore and 60 per cent to Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Wazirabad have also been restored", he said.
The spokesman said power supply to other remote areas would also be restored soon with addition of more generation in the system.
The NTDC network has restored and 4,000 MW has been added to the system so far, the spokesman said. However, there was still a shortfall of 5,000 MW, he added.
