imageLAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said the government has made a comprehensive planning for the provision of drinking water to the masses.

He was presiding over a high level meeting here on Friday which reviewed the pace of progress on Saaf Pani Project and Water Filtration Plants Programme.

Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said potable water was a right of every citizen.

He said billions of rupees were being spent on the provision of potable water to the masses.

Shahbaz Sharif said Saaf Pani Project was of vital importance and this project of public welfare should be implemented speedily.

He said resources were a trust of the nation and the government was utilizing an all-out funds on provision of basic amenities to the citizens.

He said that modern water filtration plants were being installed for the provision of potable water to the masses.

Provincial Minister for Housing Tanveer Aslam Malik, Chairperson Saaf Pani Project Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, MPA, Chairman Planning & Development, concerned secretaries and senior officers were also present.
