ISLAMABAD: Leader of Opposition in the Senate Aitzaz Ahsan said Wednesday Malala Yousafzai's winning Nobel Peace Prize was a great honour for Pakistan and praised her commitment to work for girls education.
Aitzaz Ahsan made these remarks in an informal chat at the reception which was especially organized by Norwegian Deputy Head of the Mission Lars Nordrum at his residence here to telecast live ceremony where Malala Yousafzai was awarded Nobel Peace Prize along with Indian child rights campaigner Kailash Satyarthi in Oslo.
The Nobel Peace award was jointly given to them for their outstanding services for children. The Nobel committee had described them as "champions of peace."
The reception was attended, among others by diplomats and human rights activists who heaped praise on Malala for life time achievement at such a young age and bringing laurels to the country.
