Wheat price be fixed at Rs1500 per maund: Kissan board

FAISALABAD: Kissan Board has urged the government to fix wheat's support price at the rate of Rs 1500 per maund (slightly less than 40 kg).

In a statement issued here Thursday, Kissan board's district president Mian Rehan ul Haq advocate said that Rs 1300 per maund support price fixed by the government is quite low as prices of inputs including electricity, fertilizers, seed and pesticides soared during this period.

Due to such factors wheat growers are unable to meet expenses with Rs 1300 per maund perice, he added
