ISLAMABAD: Senior analyst Nawaz Raza has said that 1100 megawatts electricity can be generated through imported LNG and resultantly the problem of power outage could be addressed to some extent.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said there is a yawning gap between supply and demand of the petroleum products therefore prices of oil are high; however, government is committed to addressing this issue and the energy crisis too.
He said that people should pay electricity and gas bills and provincial governments should also support federal government in this regard.
Speaking in the program, analyst Zafar Iqbal said that the people would be facilitated when imported LNG would land in the country and it would also create an enabling atmosphere for the industries to increase their production in an environment of competition.
He added there is need of change of mindset and culture to stop theft of gas and electricity, adding that laws should be also enforced strictly to discourage the menace.
He said that provincial governments should also support federal government in its crusade to stop theft of gas and electricity.
