imageSinger turned actor Taylor swift has been named the global welcome ambassador of New York City by the city’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization.

Taylor Swift appeared on ‘Good morning America’ and made the announcement, that she has become an ambassador of New York City. The ‘Shake it off’ singer said, "I'm still learning, but I'm so enthusiastic about this city that when I love something, I'm very vocal about it and New York was a huge landscape for what became this album. It's affected my life in ways I'm not even aware of fully,” media reported.

A source revealed Taylor Swift said that, ‘Welcome to New York’ is the first track of the album ‘1989’. Reportedly, she added “I saw New York as a place of endless potential and possibilities, and you can hear that reflected in this music and in this song”.

According to reports, Fred Dixon, president and CEO of NYC & Company said, New York City is a truly welcoming city, and 'Welcome to New York' perfectly exemplifies the unrivalled hospitality, energy and excitement that can be felt throughout all five boroughs. He added, ''We are pleased to work with Taylor Swift to welcome visitors from around the world, as she was welcomed this year, and couldn't have asked for a better synergy between Taylor and NYC & Company to tell our story about what makes New York City”.

Taylor Swift first Pop and fifth album titled ‘1989’ released on Monday. Album has 13 songs, Music lovers and fans of Taylor Swift can now preview, buy and download all the songs from the album, ‘1989’ on iTunes.
