LAHORE: Provincial Law Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan Wednesday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's long march would be given way but its leadership would have to decide the route first.
Addressing a press conference here, he said there were so many security threats to the national political leadership in view of terrorists' presence in the province.
He, however, said the province was still safe due to a comprehensive security policy made by the Punjab government and it would make all possible arrangements to save the people irrespective of any political affiliation.
The minister alleged," Wajahat Force has been given a task to carry out bloodshed in Punjab as Tahirul Qadri wants bodies for politicking."
He said PTI chief Imran Khan had expressed no-confidence in the whole political leadership and judiciary by rejecting the judicial commission.
He said the caretaker set-up during 2013 general elections was totally against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as many relatives of the PTI candidates were appointed on top posts in Punjab.
"Imran Khan himself demanded the then Chief Justice of Pakistan in written to hold general elections under the supervision of judiciary, but now after 13 months he has been levelling allegations against the judges and Election Commission of Pakistan as well", said Mashhood.
The minister said Makhdoom Javed Hashmi and Hamid Khan, who were in the forefront of the movement for independence of judiciary, had abandoned the so-called long march due to stubborness of Imran Khan. Almost all the bar associations of Punjab had also expressed no-confidence in the PTI's movement, he added. Col (retd) Shuja Khanzada was also present in the press conference.
