Workers oppose renting out PCI
LAHORE: The workers of Pakistan Communication Industry Telephone factory, a subsidiary of Telecom Foundation, strongly opposed renting out the plant without any plausible justification rendering workers jobless.
Workers talking to media here on Sunday at Lahore Press Club alleged that since Chief Executive PCI, Sardar Arif, a 70 years old took the charge a decade ago, the profit earning factory starting incurring heavy business loss due to his sheer incompetence and negligence.
Now the Telecom Foundation due to his 10 years worst performance, has decided to sack him but unfortunately Chief Executive prior to termination has hatched a conspiracy to rent out the plant to another private company thus depriving hundred of workers of their job.
They demanded Federal Minister for IT for immediate action against the Chief Executive for causing colossal financial loss to factory and recovery from him besides setting aside the decision of renting out the factory. They were of the view that new good management can run the factory in profit within short span of time.
