WASHINGTON: US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said on Saturday that he has informed the US Congress of a decision to transfer five Guantanamo detainees to Qatar.
The Pentagon chief made the announcement as President Barack Obama revealed the release of a US soldier held in Afghanistan for nearly five years.
