ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court was informed on Thursday that the appointment of Chairman, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) would be made soon as most of the process has been completed.
This was apprised by the Additional Attorney General, Attique Shah to a three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani during the hearing of a case regarding the irregularities and illegalities in the national flag carrier.
During the course of proceedings, the court observed that the functioning of PIA suffered badly due to these irregularities.
Attique Shah apprised the court that three names were finalized for the slot of Chairman PIA, out of which interviews for two had been conducted and the final name would be decided after the interview of third candidate.
However, the court said that it would not pass any order that could hamper commercial performance of national flag carrier.
The court, later adjourned further hearing of the case for fifteen days.
