ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday emphasized the need for effective coordination among provinces to curb the menace of terrorism.
PM Nawaz visited Ministry of Interior where Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Interior Secretary Qamar Zaman Chaudhry brifed him about the outline of new counter-terrorism policy.
The Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities that to formulate such a security policy which envisages an effective mechanism for elimination of terrorism. He said terrorism is not confined to one area and collective efforts are required for maintenance of peace in the country.
The prime minister said the government is determined to ensure protection of lives and properties of the people. Security institutions should enhance cooperation with the intelligence agencies to check the terrorist incidents, he added.
The recommendation for the constitution of a new anti-terrorist force and the idea of consultation with political leaders also came under discussion.
