Kallis out injured as South Africa bat

a-kallis-CENTURION: South Africa won the toss and decided to bat in the third and final Test against Pakistan at SuperSport Park on Friday.

 

Star South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis was ruled out with a calf strain. Dolphins fast bowler Kyle Abbott, called up as cover earlier in the week, earned a first Test cap.

 

South Africa, who clinched the series by winning the first two Tests, had one other injury-enforced change, with Rory Kleinveldt replacing fellow fast bowler Morne Morkel.

 

Pakistan made three changes from the side beaten by four wickets in the second Test in Cape Town.

 

Opening batsman Imran Farhat replaced Nasir Jamshed, while fast bowlers Rahat Ali and new cap Ehsan Adil came in for Umar Gul and Tanvir Ahmed.

 

With Junaid Khan not recovering from injury and Umar Gul not playing, Pakistan's three fast bowlers went into the match with two caps between them.

 

South Africa have won 13 out of 17 Test matches at Centurion. The only loss was a contrived result against England in January 2000.
