gold23LONDON: Gold prices extended gains on Friday to break above $1,680 an ounce in the wake of US non-farm payrolls data which pointed to continuing but soft jobs growth, with losses in the dollar adding to upward momentum.

 

Spot gold was up 1 percent at $1,679.80 an ounce at 1429 GMT, while US gold futures for December delivery were up $18.90 an ounce at $1,680.90.
