moen-jo-daro 400LARKANA: A delegation of 20 High Commissioners and ambassadors of various countries based in Pakistan, visited the world famous five thousand years-old Indus Valley Civilization archaeological site of Mohenjodaro, on Wednesday.

 

The envoys were led by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Argentina's Rodolfo Martin Saraovia.

 

The ambassadors included those of Malaysia, Canada, Czech Republic, Norway, Egypt, Maldives, Japan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Switzerland, Mauritius, France, Bulgaria, Nepal, Poland and Turkmenistan.

 

The envoys along-with their wives visited the Museum in which the antiques found from the ruins are preserved and put on display. They took keen interest in the articles preserved in the museum.

 

They also took a round and visited the ruins of Mohenjodaro, then visited the Stupa, Great Bath, D.K area of the ruins of the ancient city.

 

The Argentinean envoy and the leader of the envoys delegation said on the occasion that Moenjodaro is a rich archeological site.

 

The Incharge Curator of Mohenjodaro briefed the visiting envoys about the efforts and plans regarding the conservation and preservation of the relics of the old civilization.

 

During the visit of Mohenjodaro, the delegation of envoys and others was also briefed by Deputy Commissioner Larkana Assadullah Abro.

 

On the occasion, DC Larkana informed the visiting guests regarding the importance of the archaeological site of Mohenjodaro and the facilities being provided to the tourists. He also pointed out the requirements to save the world famous archaeological site of Mohenjodaro.

 

Earlier, the envoys were presented the traditional gifts of Ajraks by the district administration at a function held on the occasion.
