MELBOURNE: Australia scored 305 for five off their 50 overs after winning the toss in their opening one-day international against Sri Lanka at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday.
Phil Hughes became the first Australian to score a century on his ODI debut with 112 off 129 balls, while skipper George Bailey hit 89 off 79 balls.
