ISLAMABAD: The government has budgeted provincial surplus of Rs 241 billion for 2020-21 against the budgeted Rs 422.995 billion for 2019-20, revised down to negative Rs80.66 billion.

The government has decreased provincial share in federal taxes from Rs 3254.526 billion in 2019-20 to Rs 2873.719 billion for next financial year 2020-21. The government had budgeted Rs 3254.526 billion in 2019-20 as provincial share in federal taxes which was later revised down to Rs 2402.080 billion. Punjab's share was budgeted at Rs 1611.364 billion for 2019-20 and revised downward to Rs 1135.447 billion for the outgoing year while the province's share has been budgeted at Rs 1439.116 billion in 2020-21. Sindh's share was budgeted at Rs 814.916 billion for 2019-20 revised downward to Rs 592.321 billion. For next fiscal year the province's share has been budgeted at Rs 742.030 billion.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's share (inclusive of one percent on war on terror) was budgeted at Rs 533.261 billion for 2019-20 and revised downward to Rs 379.097 billion. For the next fiscal year the province's share has been budgeted at Rs 477.519 billion. Balochistan's share was budgeted at Rs 294.983 billion for 2019-20 and was later revised upward marginally to Rs 295.214 billion. For next fiscal year the province's share has been reduced and budgeted at Rs 265.054 billion.
