United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres concluded his four-day official visit to Pakistan and departed on Wednesday.

In a tweet from his official handle, the UN chief said that he enjoyed the rich history and vibrant culture of Lahore  and the majestic Badshahi mosque.

"I concluded my visit to Pakistan after enjoying the rich history and vibrant culture of Lahore - from the Lahore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the majestic Badshahi mosque. Thank you to the people of Pakistan for a wonderful visit!" he wrote.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to UN Munir Akram saw him off at the Allama Iqbal International Airport. Capital City Police Officer Lahore Zulfiqar Hameed and others were also present on the occasion.

During his visit, Guterres participated in “International Conference on 40 Years of Hosting Afghan Refugees in Pakistan: A New Partnership for Solidarity”. He also held meetings with President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

During his trip to Lahore, the UN chief visited a kindergarten in Lahore’s DHA where he administered polio drops to children. He also visited the Kartarpur Corridor, Badshahi mosque and Shahi Qila.
