Prime Minster Imran Khan Friday sought private sector help for expediting public sector development projects across the country.

Speaking to the business community at the Governor House during his visit to Karachi, Imran said business fraternity is the pillar of the economy. "Private sector investment will give a real boost to the country's economy," the premier maintained. The Prime Minister said the government is committed to ensuring ease of doing business in the country and the efforts in this regard had already been acknowledged by the World Bank and other financial institutions. "The country's ranking has jumped up to 28 on the World Bank's ease of doing business index," he added.

Imran said the economic indicators show that the country's financial position has gained a visible boost. He said international financial institutions have termed Pakistan's economic conditions stabilized. He assured full support to the business community in resolving their issues.

The business community delegation included Siraj Kassim Teli, Adnan Asad, Aga Shahab, Arif Habib, Khalid Masood, Zahid Saeed, S M Munir, Engr Daroo Khan Achakzai and Mirza Ikhtiar Baig.

Lawmakers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Sindh Assembly also met with the Prime Minster at the Governor House. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Advisor to the Prime Minister, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Minister for Water Resources, Faisal Vawda, Minister for Maritime Affairs, Ali Zaidi, Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce, Abdul Razak Dawood, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Dr Reza Baqir and others were also present on the occasion.
