Pakistan opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad has stated that he wishes to be remembered by his countrymen and fans for his achievements in the World Cup.

"My wish is to do something for Pakistan in the World Cup which is always remembered. At the end of the day, that's why we play cricket. Fine, there's money involved and there's a lot of other things, positive and negative but at the end of the day, I want to do something for my people and my country,” he said while talking to media persons.

The opening batsman further revealed that hopes to be selected for the game ultimate tournament. “I want to build love in people's hearts for me. The World Cup is a very big opportunity for anyone, not only me. If you do well in the World Cup, it's always remembered so I am hopeful," he added.

Talking about the missed opportunity at the ongoing PSL, after he got out on 99, the opening batsman said that he was sad about it, as the team lost to Karachi Kings in the last match thriller.“I am unhappy to have lost the match, also sad about getting out on 99, who doesn't want to make a century? Until the last over, we had the match in our hands," he said.
