The Punjab government has decided to introduce a comprehensive package for the welfare of labourers which would be announced by Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in a function on Labour Day. In this regard, a ceremony would be held at Warburton, Nankana Sahib, where the Chief Minister will distribute allotment letters of quarters to workers besides Insaaf Sehat Cards. A high-level meeting was also held under the chair of Chief Minister at his office here on Monday in which the labourers' package and arrangements of the ceremony were reviewed. Sources claimed that the meeting decided to extend maximum relief to the labourers so that they can feel the change.
Addressing the meeting, the CM said that time has come to improve the living conditions of the labourers, adding that a special package has been prepared by the government to extend them incentives and facilities.
Labour Minister Ansar Majeed Khan Niazi and the Secretary Labour briefed the CM about the arrangements and salient features of the labourers' package. Provincial ministers Ansar Majeed Khan Niazi and Dr. Yasmin Rashid and others attended the meeting.
Moreover, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Nadeem Afzal Chan called on Usman Buzdar at his office on Monday and discussed political situation. During the meeting, various matters of mutual interest including media-related strategy came under discussion. Gulraiz Afzal Chan MPA was also present on the occasion.
Talking on the occasion, the CM said that opposition is afraid of the accountability process and added that no thief will be let off.
The people are yearning for the accountability of plunderers, he added. "I am also monitoring the ground realities by visiting various districts. However, no one will be allowed any interference in the mission of public service. The opinion of the public representatives is given credence for finalizing development schemes," the CM added.
Nadeem Afzal Chan said Punjab is moving towards durable development and Usman Buzdar is genuinely working for public welfare.
