'Increase in minimum marriageable age to 18 years against Islamic principles'

Leader of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has said that increase in minimum marriageable age to 18 years is against the Islamic principles. While taking to media persons outside the Parliament House here on Monday, he said that puberty is a condition for marriage in Islam. He said that the constitutional change, which is against the Islamic principles, is not good omen.
He said the Bill should first be sent to the Federal Shariat Court (FSC), so it can be reviewed under the Islamic principles. He said, "We would not remain silent on this issue." About the reforms of seminaries, he said it is not job of army to bring reforms.
