ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has refused to accept the resignation of Lt General Asim Saleem Bajwa (retired) as Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting.
A brief statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office Friday stated that special assistant to prime minister on information and broadcasting submitted his resignation to the prime minister.
The prime minister stated that he was satisfied with the explanation and evidence provided by Asim Bajwa, and directed Bajwa to continue work as his special assistant.
Bajwa in response to a story with regard to his and family's assets tweeted on Thursday "I strongly rebut the baseless allegations levelled against me and my family. Alhamdolillah another attempt to damage our reputation belied/exposed. I have and will always serve Pakistan with pride and dignity."
