PARIS: A strike at French oil and gas company Total's 117,000 barrels-per-day Feyzin refinery in the east of France has been extended until Wednesday May 24, a union official said.

The strike began on May 4 and has led to a production halt at the refinery and petrochemical platform near Lyon. It was called by the hardline Force Ouvriere (FO) labour union over bonuses and staff issues.

"The strike has been extended until Wednesday May 24," an FO union official told Reuters, adding that no new demands have been made.
