Samsung suffered a huge blow, after it was forced to recall its latest golden child the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 amid reports of battery exploding endangering the life of its user.
However, there is good news for all Galaxy lovers out there, as you could now check whether your Note 7 is safe or not, all thanks to the IMEI checker.
Credit should be given to Samsung as the company itself has provided this checker, which is simple to use. All you need is go to the Samsung official recall page and type in your handset’s IMEI, which one can find in the phone’s settings menu or on the retail box.
Now, if your device is due for a recall, the webpage will display a notification saying to turn your phone off immediately. Users could also check your IMEI through the Samsung+ app, reported Android Police.
However, only those Galaxy Note 7 handsets are eligible for recall, which were purchased before September 15.
As per CNET, the South Korean smartphone maker has informed that the replacement stock of new Galaxy Note 7 will be available after September 21. However, the company has to replace some 2.5 million handsets worldwide, which could take a long time.
